Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, bridges, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) safely and efficiently
- Respond to weather emergencies and disaster recovery operations
- Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Support public outreach initiatives during community improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance/civil engineering preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Pass background check and drug screening
