Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public facilities and utilities
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Implement erosion control measures and stormwater management protocols
- Coordinate with engineering teams for infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Missouri Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., CAT, John Deere)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping and asset management systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
