Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including street sweepers, dump trucks, and landscaping equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities, parks, and drainage systems
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and extreme weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities and submit detailed work reports
- Support community events and beautification initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for reporting systems
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly desirable
