Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city streets, sidewalks, curbs, and traffic signals to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers, following all safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections of infrastructure to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Clear debris, litter, and obstructions from rights-of-way and drainage areas during storms.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Respond to emergency service calls and work collaboratively with other city departments.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification in a related field is a plus.
- Valid Class B California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of traffic control devices, road construction techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
