Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city facilities, parks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, graders, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs after storms or accidents
- Install and repair traffic signs, signals, and street markings
- Conduct regular inspections of public spaces and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years construction/maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of CAD/blueprint reading
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
