Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities including water treatment plants, pump stations, and public buildings
- Operate heavy equipment and specialized machinery for infrastructure projects with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections of city assets to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects and emergency response operations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory usage, and equipment performance metrics
- Implement sustainable practices in facility operations to reduce environmental impact
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls for critical infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 3 years' experience in municipal maintenance or related field
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record and ability to obtain commercial vehicle endorsement
- Certification in water treatment operations or facility maintenance preferred
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., Cityworks, Maximo) preferred
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
