Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., trucks, graders, backhoes) for infrastructure projects
- Perform preventative maintenance on city facilities and public spaces
- Respond to emergency repairs for roads, drainage systems, and utilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on large-scale projects
- Conduct daily site inspections and report hazards or issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in OSHA 10-hour construction safety preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Pass background check and drug screening
