Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Inspect and repair traffic signals, street signs, and lighting infrastructure
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and equipment usage
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical exam
