Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on city facilities, roads, and parks
- Operate heavy machinery including street sweepers, asphalt cutters, and landscaping equipment
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during off-hours as required
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in public works maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
