Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Install and repair traffic signs, signals, and street lighting
- Conduct inspections of municipal infrastructure and document findings
- Respond to emergency weather-related public works requests
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate equipment maintenance logs and safety records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Certification in OSHA construction safety standards preferred
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and physical environments
