Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, graders, trenchers) with precision and safety compliance
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during extreme weather events
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety protocols at all times
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in civil maintenance preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with tanker endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with GIS mapping and maintenance software
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
