Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and bridges to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and snow plows, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in park maintenance, including landscaping, trash removal, and facility upkeep.
- Respond to emergency service calls related to street flooding, debris, or downed trees.
- Conduct inspections of public infrastructure and report findings to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and city policies while on duty.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Indiana Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory for all positions.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general labor is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Strong commitment to safety and punctuality.
