Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and storm drains
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) safely
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Assist in disaster recovery efforts citywide
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- 1+ years experience in construction/maintenance field
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (certification preferred)
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varied conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Fresno residency required within 6 months of hire
