Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and public safety incidents
- Conduct site inspections and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Maintain accurate work records and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Knowledge of Caltrans and municipal maintenance standards
- Experience with GIS mapping systems preferred
