Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency service calls for infrastructure damage and weather-related issues
- Conduct inspections of public facilities and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in water distribution or wastewater systems preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
