Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems
- Conduct facility inspections and repair damaged structures (fences, benches, signage)
- Assist with snow and ice removal during winter weather events
- Respond to citizen service requests for facility repairs or maintenance issues
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and proper equipment handling
- Participate in emergency response operations during natural disasters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years experience in facility maintenance or landscaping
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Certification in CPR/First Aid preferred
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery safely
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and horticultural practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
