Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, loaders, and jackhammers.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance requests and citizen complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform routine inspections of public infrastructure, including traffic signs, signals, and street lights.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city policies.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to support community projects and special events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand technical blueprints, maps, and maintenance manuals.
- Strong commitment to public service and community welfare.
