Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and paving equipment.
- Inspect and maintain traffic signs, signals, and street lighting to ensure public safety.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Clear debris, litter, and obstructions from rights-of-way and public parks.
- Conduct quality control checks on all maintenance projects to ensure compliance with city standards.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to address infrastructure needs efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class A preferred).
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and operating heavy equipment.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance practices.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Strong commitment to public service and safety protocols.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
