Role Overview:
As a Public Works Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the city's streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public spaces. Your work ensures the safety and accessibility of our community for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, alleys, and public right-of-ways.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and hand tools, including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers.
- Maintain and repair drainage infrastructure to prevent flooding.
- Remove snow and ice during winter storms to ensure public safety.
- Pick up litter and debris to maintain clean community standards.
- Assist in various public works projects as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance equipment.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
