Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as trucks, loaders, and mowers safely and efficiently
- Install and repair traffic control devices, signage, and pavement markings
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related incidents (floods, storms, etc.)
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities to identify maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification in maintenance technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (CDL Class B beneficial but not required)
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and repair techniques
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire
