Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs and storm-related incidents
- Assist with landscaping and park maintenance projects
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain equipment in optimal condition
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Adhere to all municipal safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of traffic control and work zone safety
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
