Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including dump trucks, paving machines, and snow removal plows.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Inspect public infrastructure for damage, wear, and safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the public regarding work status and projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and departmental policies.
- Complete daily work logs and report material needs accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements is preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance equipment.
- Strong commitment to customer service and community safety.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
