Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public spaces
- Operate heavy equipment (trucks, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Respond to emergency repairs during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Conduct regular inspections of public works assets
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and business owners
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of public works or maintenance experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and maintenance software
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Georgia Water/Wastewater Operator certification (preferred)
