Responsibilities
- <ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure including pothole repair and pavement marking.</li><li>Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment such as snowplows, dump trucks, and pavement breakers safely and efficiently.</li><li>Inspect city property to identify safety hazards, code violations, and areas requiring immediate maintenance.</li><li>Assist in emergency response situations, including severe weather events and public safety incidents.</li><li>Manage waste management and recycling collection routes according to established schedules and regulations.</li><li>Document work performed accurately using digital fleet management systems and reporting tools.</li><li>Collaborate with other municipal departments and community stakeholders to address local infrastructure needs.</li></ul>
Qualifications
- <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification or trade school background is a plus.</li><li>Valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance operations.</li><li>Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.</li><li>Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations regarding heavy machinery and construction sites.</li><li>Basic computer literacy and experience with fleet management software or handheld reporting devices.</li><li>Must possess a valid driver's abstract and pass a drug screening and background check.</li></ul>
