Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of municipal roads, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, graders, and dump trucks for construction projects
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Document work activities using digital field reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
- Participate in community outreach initiatives for public awareness programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction
- Certification in erosion control and stormwater management preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with field inspection software (e.g., Cityworks, GIS)
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
