Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as dump trucks, excavators, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs during severe weather events and natural disasters
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Assist in community outreach programs for public awareness initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and power tools
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and during emergencies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical environments
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
