Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum applications for commercial deployment
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature Physics, Quantum Science & Technology)
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum processors
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Published work in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Demonstrated experience with quantum simulators (QASM, Quil)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Expertise in high-performance computing environments (HPC clusters)
- Track record of securing federal research funding
- Experience with superconducting qubit architectures preferred
