Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors with >1000 qubits
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and neural networks
- Publish findings in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum software engineers
- Secure $2M+ in DARPA/NSF quantum computing grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2020-2026)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubits or ion trap systems
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or Q# for quantum circuit development
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum assembly languages
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Security clearance eligibility for government-funded quantum projects
