Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, dump trucks) with proper certification
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate remotely with engineering teams for project planning and documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate field notes and digital reports using remote-access systems
- Support emergency response crews during weather-related infrastructure events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency in digital reporting tools (e.g., GIS mapping, inventory software)
- Strong communication skills for hybrid team coordination
- Flexibility for occasional weekend/evening on-site assignments
