Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Oversee city elections, including ballot preparation, voter registration, and certification
- Administer oaths of office and public notarization services
- Ensure compliance with Colorado Sunshine Laws and open records requests
- Lead the city clerk's office team and develop departmental procedures
- Coordinate with city council, mayor's office, and legal department on legislative processes
- Manage document imaging systems and digital archives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years municipal government experience with records management
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) or equivalent
- Expertise in election administration and Colorado election law
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Strong knowledge of open records laws and Sunshine Act compliance
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Public speaking experience for council presentations
