Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Oversee public records requests with precision and compliance
- Coordinate city council meetings, elections, and public hearings
- Develop and implement record-keeping systems and digital archives
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal governance
- Train staff on records management best practices
- Ensure compliance with state and local public information laws
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years municipal records management or government experience
- Expert knowledge of Texas Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
