Responsibilities
- Manage official municipal records, ordinances, and council minutes with archival precision
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Louisiana Public Records Law
- Coordinate City Council meetings, agendas, and legislative documentation
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official municipal seals
- Develop and implement records retention policies per state regulations
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal governance processes
- Supervise clerk staff and maintain departmental workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal/government administrative experience
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana municipal codes and parliamentary procedure
- Exceptional written communication and public interaction skills
