Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes in compliance with state statutes
- Oversee municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison for public records requests ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Administer oaths of office, business licenses, and municipal permits with meticulous attention to detail
- Coordinate City Council meetings including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and public hearing facilitation
- Implement and maintain digital record management systems ensuring data security and accessibility
- Train staff on municipal procedures and record-keeping best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector administrative experience
- Wisconsin Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Proficiency in record management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep knowledge of Wisconsin open records laws and election procedures
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Project management experience for municipal initiatives and process improvements
