Responsibilities
- Oversee official city records management, document retention, and public information requests
- Administer municipal elections, including voter registration and polling site coordination
- Prepare and distribute City Council agendas, minutes, and legislative documentation
- Manage business licensing, permits, and regulatory compliance
- Lead records digitization and modernization initiatives
- Provide expert advice to city officials on legislative procedures
- Train staff on records management best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience, including 2+ years in clerk functions
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Deep knowledge of California Election Code and Brown Act requirements
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
