Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including meeting minutes, ordinances, and resolutions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and local laws.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, packets, and supporting materials for the City Council and various boards.
- Act as the primary liaison between the City Manager's office, departments, and the general public, addressing inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Oversee the intake, processing, and filing of correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for city officials and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Maintain the City’s code of ordinances and ensure staff adherence to administrative protocols.
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, scanning, and maintaining electronic filing systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clerical, administrative, or records management role within a government or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with government-specific software or document management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread and verify information accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of municipal government processes and procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.
