Responsibilities
- Lead complex land use projects including zoning updates, environmental reviews (CEQA), and general plan amendments
- Facilitate community outreach meetings and public hearings for high-profile developments
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for Board of Supervisors approval
- Collaborate with transportation, housing, and environmental agencies on integrated planning
- Manage consultant contracts and oversee project budgets
- Develop innovative solutions for affordable housing and climate resilience initiatives
- Mentor junior planners and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive planning experience in local government
- California AICP certification required
- Expert knowledge of CEQA, California Planning/Zoning Law, and General Plan processes
- Proven ability to manage complex public projects with competing stakeholder interests
- Advanced GIS mapping and data analysis skills
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Experience leading community engagement initiatives in diverse urban settings
