Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce environmental compliance programs for city facilities and operations
- Conduct regulatory audits and inspections for federal/state/local environmental laws
- Lead hazardous waste management and pollution prevention initiatives
- Prepare compliance reports for EPA, CalEPA, and regional agencies
- Train staff on environmental regulations and best practices
- Coordinate with city departments to implement sustainability goals
- Manage environmental incident response protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in government sector
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, and California regulations
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or equivalent preferred
- Experience with environmental data management systems
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills
- Valid California driver's license
