Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental impact assessments for county infrastructure projects
- Develop and implement pollution prevention programs across 34 municipalities
- Manage regulatory compliance for EPA Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act
- Analyze environmental data using GIS mapping and statistical modeling tools
- Coordinate with state DEP and federal EPA agencies on enforcement actions
- Lead public outreach initiatives on sustainable practices
- Train department staff on environmental regulations and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience
- Valid Florida Professional Engineer or Scientist license preferred
- Advanced proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and environmental modeling software
- Experience with NEPA and Florida Environmental Resource Permitting
- Demonstrated project management with budgets over $500K
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
- Certification in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) a plus
