Responsibilities
- Lead environmental compliance monitoring and enforcement for county operations
- Develop and implement sustainability programs for county facilities and infrastructure
- Analyze environmental data to create actionable reports for policy development
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies on regulatory compliance matters
- Manage environmental impact assessments for major county projects
- Train county staff on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements
- Represent the county at environmental stakeholder meetings and public forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive environmental management experience
- Expertise in federal, state, and local environmental regulations (TCEQ, EPA)
- Advanced proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis
- Proven project management experience with budgets exceeding $500K
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, PMP) preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong written communication skills for technical reporting
