Responsibilities
- Conduct high-stakes inspections of commercial food facilities, public swimming pools, and hazardous waste sites
- Lead multi-agency investigations into environmental health crises and disease outbreaks
- Develop data-driven compliance strategies for regulated industries
- Train junior staff on advanced inspection methodologies and regulatory interpretation
- Testify as expert witness in legal proceedings involving public health violations
- Author technical reports and policy recommendations for state legislative initiatives
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for environmental disasters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or related field from accredited institution
- Valid California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Minimum 5 years of environmental health enforcement experience
- Advanced knowledge of Title 22 California Code of Regulations
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Hazardous Materials Manager credentials
- Demonstrated expertise in GIS mapping for environmental risk assessment
- Successful completion of state-level crisis management training
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary public health investigations
