Responsibilities
- Conduct complex inspections of food establishments, housing units, and public facilities
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory compliance
- Develop educational materials for businesses and community stakeholders
- Lead training programs for junior staff and regulated industries
- Analyze environmental data to identify emerging public health risks
- Collaborate with other county agencies on cross-functional initiatives
- Prepare detailed technical reports and enforcement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental health experience, including 2 years in lead/supervisory role
- Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Strong knowledge of California health and safety codes
- Excellent communication skills for community outreach and testimony
- Advanced data analysis and report writing capabilities
- Valid California driver's license
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
