Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive environmental health inspections and risk assessments for food facilities, water systems, and public swimming areas
- Investigate public health complaints and implement corrective actions for environmental hazards
- Develop and deliver public health education programs to diverse community stakeholders
- Analyze environmental data using GIS mapping and statistical analysis tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop emergency response protocols
- Prepare detailed technical reports and regulatory recommendations
- Mentor junior staff and conduct training on environmental health standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field (Master's preferred)
- California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification required
- Minimum 3 years of environmental health field inspection experience
- Advanced knowledge of California Health & Safety Code regulations
- Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with public health emergency response programs
