Responsibilities
- Analyze complex environmental legislation and regulations to develop actionable policy recommendations
- Collaborate with state agencies to implement climate action plans and sustainability initiatives
- Conduct quantitative research and economic impact assessments for environmental programs
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for state officials
- Manage stakeholder engagement with environmental NGOs, industry partners, and community groups
- Oversee compliance with federal environmental regulations (EPA, NEPA) at state level
- Lead interdepartmental task forces on emerging environmental challenges
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in environmental regulations (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (R, Python, SPSS) and GIS mapping
- Proven track record of developing and advocating for environmental legislation
- Exceptional written communication skills with policy brief portfolio
- Experience with Massachusetts state government operations and procurement processes
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license (required for field site visits)
