Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and evaluate state health policies aligned with federal regulations and community needs
- Analyze healthcare data trends and economic impacts to inform strategic recommendations
- Collaborate with legislative bodies, community stakeholders, and federal partners
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for decision-makers
- Oversee implementation of public health programs and measure outcomes
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and lead cross-departmental task forces
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in state/federal government policy development
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Strong knowledge of Virginia's healthcare system and legislative processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated public speaking experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license (required for travel to state facilities)
- Professional certification (e.g., CPPA, CPH) preferred
