Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide pollution prevention programs targeting industrial and commercial sectors
- Conduct comprehensive environmental compliance inspections and regulatory enforcement
- Lead hazardous waste management initiatives and emergency response protocols
- Analyze environmental data to identify trends and recommend policy improvements
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies on environmental regulations
- Train municipal staff on sustainable practices and regulatory requirements
- Manage environmental grant applications and program budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of environmental compliance experience in government
- Texas Registered Environmental Specialist certification required
- Proficiency in EPA reporting systems and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated project management experience with budgets over $500K
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, and TCEQ regulations
- Excellent written communication skills for technical reports
- Valid Texas driver's license
