Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental compliance strategies for industrial and municipal clients
- Lead hazardous waste management programs and emergency response protocols
- Conduct site assessments and regulatory inspections ensuring adherence to EPA/MDEQ standards
- Design community outreach initiatives promoting sustainable practices across Detroit neighborhoods
- Analyze environmental data to inform policy recommendations and grant proposals
- Coordinate with county, state, and federal agencies on environmental justice initiatives
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on complex regulatory matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years experience in environmental compliance or sustainability management
- Valid Michigan Environmental Specialist certification
- Expertise in EPA regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Air Act)
- Advanced data analysis skills with GIS and environmental modeling software
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and program administration
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse community stakeholders
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
