Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide sustainability programs targeting waste reduction and energy efficiency
- Lead regulatory compliance initiatives for local businesses and municipal facilities
- Coordinate inter-agency partnerships with state environmental agencies and non-profits
- Design and execute public education campaigns on environmental best practices
- Manage environmental impact assessments for new development projects
- Oversee field investigations for pollution incidents and hazardous material responses
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners and state regulators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) certification required
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis software (GIS, ArcGIS)
- Demonstrated experience with federal/state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ)
- Exceptional project management skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
