Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide environmental compliance programs
- Lead sustainability initiatives for public facilities and infrastructure
- Manage grant applications and reporting for environmental projects
- Coordinate with state agencies on regulatory compliance
- Train county staff on environmental best practices
- Analyze environmental impact reports for development projects
- Public outreach and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years of environmental policy experience
- Valid NC driver's license
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Experience with environmental regulations (EPA, DEQ)
- Project management certification preferred
- Excellent public speaking abilities
