Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional environmental compliance programs for air quality and water resources
- Analyze environmental data using GIS and statistical modeling tools to identify pollution trends
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory recommendations for state legislative committees
- Coordinate inter-agency partnerships with local municipalities and tribal organizations
- Lead public outreach initiatives on environmental sustainability initiatives
- Manage grant funding allocation for local conservation projects
- Train junior staff on regulatory compliance procedures and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in environmental protection
- Professional certification in Environmental Management (CEM) or equivalent
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and environmental data analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal Clean Air/Water Acts
- Proven experience managing environmental budgets exceeding $500,000
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to field sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder presentations
