Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental compliance programs for industrial and municipal facilities
- Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Analyze environmental data and prepare detailed technical reports for county leadership and regulatory agencies
- Lead cross-departmental sustainability initiatives including waste reduction and pollution prevention strategies
- Coordinate with community stakeholders and industry partners on environmental education programs
- Manage complex environmental permitting processes and regulatory negotiations
- Train junior staff on environmental assessment methodologies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive environmental compliance experience in government or regulated industry
- Valid Texas Environmental Professional certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software and environmental data analysis tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of TCEQ, EPA, and OSHA environmental regulations
- Exceptional project management skills with experience managing budgets over $500K
- Strong written/verbal communication abilities for public reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
